Fundraiser for FQMS – June 14th

We are delighted to promote this event, a fundraiser for FQMS.

Join us on June 14th, 2024, at 7:00 PM for an event in support of Palestine. The event will feature Palestinian singer Rola Azar, accompanied by Palestinian oud player Saied Silbak and his band @hatem.kiwan, @hanenkiwan_hk, @baselseaf1. The proceeds from the event will support medical charity organisations: FQMS & MAP.

The evening is presented by Meshwar in association with Bethlehem Cultural Festival.

Ya Talien Eljabal – Rola Azar (Official Video)

Rola Azar‘s debut London performance in London. Rola, the captivating voice of modern Palestinian folk culture, was born in Nazareth, Palestine, and academically trained in Oriental Music at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. With a career highlighted by performances in prestigious venues worldwide. 

She released her debut album in partnership with Lebanese artist Ziad Sahab in Beirut and is gearing up for her second album, rooted in Palestinian dialect. Rola’s commitment extends to preserving traditional songs with her father, Milad Azar, and embarking on an exciting new project with Ziad Sahab, all while using her music to fortify Palestinian identity. For more information, please visit her official website.

Saied Silbak – Bashir (Official Video)

Saeid Silbak is a Palestinian composer and oud player born in Shafaa`mr, in the lower Galilee of occupied Palestine. He began training in classical piano at the age of four, before moving onto the oud in his early teens to delve deep into the nuances at the base of Arabic music. Silbak has a unique understanding of different types of music, from Arabic, Turkish and Indian to classical Western styles. 

His signature sound, created through his artful ability to fuse these styles together, has seen him perform around the world. He has performed at festivals and concert series in the UK, Belgium, France, Palestine, Morocco, Argentina and beyond. Visit his official website for more information.
