The Gaza Strip has been suffering from a siege for a long time. This has affected the area financially with progressive salary cuts and no new jobs. To ease the financial strain on the students at the Islamic University of Gaza, we subsidised transport for the students. The buses take the students from Gaza city in the north to the south (about 20km apart) and stops at the European Gaza Hospital and Naser Hospital in Khan Younis, as well as the Emirati Red Crescent Hospital in Rafah. This has been a vital in ensuring students attend their training reliably, as public transport is non-existent, and students rely on expensive taxis to travel around the Strip. On a daily basis between 50 to 200 students use the buses. Throughout the year there were 1-3 buses running daily. This saves the students both time and money.
