Teaching Fellowships

Fostering excellence in new medical graduates – funding the top students to work as teachers and trainers.

FQMS offers the top graduates paid teaching fellowships. This programme started in 2020 and was offered to all four medical schools. The fellows are selected based on the Dean’s recommendation, academic performance, an application form, and an interview by the FQMS Board. This helps foster excellence in new medical graduates by funding the highest performing students to work as teachers and trainers, to ensure the benefits of their knowledge are cascaded to and multiplied among the next generation of medical students. The graduates commit to ward or clinic-based teaching at their university over the year and will receive $800-$1,000 per month for one year. In consultation with the Palestinian medical schools, we started offering the top graduates from the Islamic University of Gaza and An-Najah University paid teaching fellowships in 2020.

In 2020, we had two fellows from the Islamic University of Gaza (Saleh Eleiwa, Bakr Abo Jarad) and one fellow from An Najah University (Hala Qasrawi).

In 2021, another two fellows Ahmed Elhissi and Saed Owda were selected from the Islamic University of Gaza.

In 2022, two more fellows, Abdallah Alwali and Khaled Alsultan were selected from the Islamic University of Gaza.
